Anamaria Marina is a Romanian actor. She first made screen appearances through The Channel 4 film Sex Traffic for which she won the British Academy Television Award for Best Actress. Can speak French, German, English as well as Romanian well. Her mother was a violinist and her father is the theater professor at one of the top drama schools in Romania. Winner of the Best Female Actor of the Year 2000 Award at the young Actor Gala Mangalia. In 2008, she was honoured as an 'Eastern Shooting Star' European Shooting Star' by the European Film Promotion Board. In addition to her outstanding performance in her first film, the actress is recognized for her performance in the Romanian art film 4 months 3 Weeks as well as 2 Days which won her various awards, among them the European Film Award for Best Actress London Film Critics. She starred in the Romanian film 4 luni 3 semaines si 2 days (4 Months 3 Weeks and 2 days) produced by Cristian Mungiu. The film won the Palme d'Or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and two other prizes (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System and the FIPRESCI award). Additionally, she was a part in the film of Francis Ford Coppola Youth Without Youth. In 2008, she starred as Yasim anwar, a character from the BBC five-episode mini-series The Last Enemy. Marinca appeared in The Romanian drama Boogie and Oliver Hirschbiegel's award-winning Five Minutes of Heaven. She then had an important part in 2014's Fury where she played Irma Emma's German mother of Emma.
